Several recipe postings on the web for Bacon Infused Bourbon - neat - on-the-rock - Manhattans - had to try it -
FIrst - choose one -
cook & add bacon grease to bourbon -
cook & add bacon & grease to bourbon
cook & add bacon (meat) to bourbon -
let sit for 6 hours - strain -
let sit for 12 hours - strain -
let sit for 24 hours - strain
let sit forever - don't strain
I went with 400 ML of Jim Beam - added - 4 strips double-smoked bacon - cooled & broken into small bits - let sit for 24 hours in the refrigerator - stained through fine tea strainer to remove all solids -
Gingerly sipped - slightly greasy - tasted just like Jim Bean - i.e - don't get it - but at least I tried -
