Happened upon Freddie & Peppers walking up Amsterdam Avenue - it was below street level - the kind of local pizza joint that endears New Yorkers - bonds a hole in the wall with customers who will venture out in the middle of a snow store - just for a slice -
Better than that - they deliver - 212-799-BEST - and this place is the best - particularly when you order - a large - Bacon - Spinach - Tomato - Well Done -
The crust is crisp - the tomatoes are chunky - spinach balances - crisp bacon - plenty of it - brings texture - crunch - explosive flavor - to the masterful creation -
Too much - asked for 1/2 and 1/2 - eggplant and extra tomato -
