The Treats Truck was parked on Broadway - looking for a late afternoon snack - it proved to be a dangerous match up - I may have found my ultimate brownie -
Scanning the handwritten selection sheet - looking in the illuminated display case on the side of the truck - beneath the high counter - scanning half a dozen types of brownies - some with what I think was peanut butter topping - some swirled with even more chocolate on top - plus - chocolate chip cookies - chocolate and/or vanilla cookies with filling that turned them into king-sized soft Oreos - a few pumpkin tarts - I think I saw fruit tarts - danger - have to look away - or buy it all -
- "I'll take a chocolate chip brownie" - when my turn in line (yes - there was a line) came -
- "Do you prefer corner - side - or - middle" - the server/driver asked - no one serving me a brownie - anywhere in the world - had ever voluntarily asked me such a question - although I must admit to maneuvering for the best pieces in the bake dish - many a time -
- "Middle" - I responded - forking over a mere 2.50 for what was over-sized by New York standards -
Delicious - moist - firm - intense chocolate - nice chips throughout without being obstacles to enjoyment - blending but still a presence - guilt at my private enjoyment - cursing The Treats Truck - for I knew I would have to be back - this could prove dangerous to my health - but this is what true sweets are all about
oh my gawd. cant wait to be home and try it!!!
