Chateau Pape Clement - Blanc - Cru Classe de Graves - @ - Annual Grands Crus de Bordeaux - 2007 Vintage Tasting -
WOW -
Friend (tks Brian) pointed out their table - white - blend of four grapes - Sauvignon (45%) - Semillion (45%) - Muscadelle (10%) - Grey Sauvignon (?? %) - 14.5 % alc. - sweet - spice - no heat from the high alc - full body - fruit - apricot - extreme complexity from first sip to back finish - drinking it is almost a shock - a wonderful range of sensations -
The vineyard goes back to 1305 AD - the oldest in Bordeaux - this is the 701st vintage - they have gotten it right - apparently for quite some time - Blanc is approx $200 per bottle -
