Takeout from Marseilles on Ninth Avenue - Moules Frites - mussels steamed in white wine with garlic & tomatoes - well done frites - perfect for the cold winter night - (yes - this classic French Bistro does takeout) -
Mussels were tender - not over cooked - the broth was vibrant orange with bits of garlic occasionally popping the sensory channels against the white wine and tomato base melded to the juices from the seafood - great to use larger shells to spoon it up - almost wanted to drink it straight -
Well done French Fries - traveled exceedingly well - zapped in the oven to bring back all their crispness -
I drank a Bourbon - partner did a beer -
